 Striated Paths (Pt 1)
always ongoing

Encounter. A ‘reflexology path’, New Territories, Hong Kong. Raised pebbles formed into a meandering line, situated in a park where a group of (moderately mature) women crossed barefoot, sharing conversations and jokes.
Painful and yet strangely addictive as this walk was, the event stayed with me when I returned to the UK.
A thought process developed towards... Re-imagining an unfixed common land within the urban fabric. Holistic practice; not as whimsical, alternative, nor meditative break from working life, nor derogated healer but as a model concerned with opening up the personality of pavements and their functions (or alternative functions) in urbanised landscapes.
Un-prescribing concrete land. Or rather, re-functioning bodily flows.
